FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Samsung serial number?
On Galaxy phones and tablets, go to Settings > About Phone > Status Information to find the serial number. It is also printed on the device's physical label. For Samsung laptops, the serial number is on a sticker on the bottom panel.
How long does Samsung warranty last?
Samsung provides a 1-year limited warranty on most consumer devices. This covers manufacturing defects and hardware failures. Samsung does not typically offer standard multi-year warranties comparable to PC manufacturers — Samsung Care+ is the extension option.
What is Samsung Care+?
Samsung Care+ is Samsung's device protection plan. It covers accidental damage (up to 2 incidents per 12 months with a service fee), mechanical breakdown, and on select plans, loss and theft. It must typically be purchased within 30 days of the device purchase.
Does Samsung warranty cover cracked screens?
No. The standard Samsung warranty does not cover accidental damage including cracked screens. Samsung Care+ adds accidental damage coverage, including screen damage, subject to a deductible. Without either coverage, screen repairs are available at Samsung Service Centers at standard rates.
Can I check Samsung warranty without the serial number?
No. Samsung's warranty verification requires the device serial number or IMEI. Without this identifier, Samsung cannot look up your specific device's warranty status or service history. The serial number can be found in Settings > About Phone > Status on Samsung devices.
